Today Maya turned 10 months old, before we know it she will hit the big 1.0.
She's loves standing up and "walking" with our support. She spends a lot of time standing, holding on to the ottoman. Her hand/eye coordination is getting better by the day, she can press the buttons on her toy phone and open up cookie monster's door on her busy box.
To celebrate her birthday, and the nice day, we went out for ice cream.
Maya has this new thing she does where she shakes her head really fast. She knows that she can crack us up by doing it and it works every time.
The last Friday of March is a TiVo holiday for all its employees. We call it the blue moon holiday and it celebrates the shipping of the first TiVos.
To take advantage of the day off, we had a leisurely breakfast, and read the paper.
Then we headed up to San Francisco and went to the Annie Leibovitz exhibit at the Fine Art Museum which was quite interesting.
Maya slept through much of it, thank goodness.

The Easter bunny was very good to Maya this year. He showered her with peeps and jelly beans and a giant chocolate bunny!
We're getting ready for Easter and that means coloring Easter eggs. This year we did all the work and Maya just watched. We did give her some eggs to play with though, which basically means smashing them and then throwing them on the floor.
I hope the Easter bunny brings lots of candy for Maya because it will be a good opportunity to give her a lesson in sharing.

Yep, she has her first tooth...so far just one. She got it about a week ago, hopefully the others will sprout soon. So far she hasn't been to fussy, but about the time it came in she was fussier than usual.

Hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day. We plan on eating our fill of corned beef & cabbage and irish soda bread tonight.
Now that it's spring....time to hit the pool. The weather has been really nice so this last weekend we went for a swim.
Luckily, Maya loves the water as much as I do.
After months of waiting after they messed up our order, we finally got our "One Laptop per Child" laptop.
Last year they had a "buy one, give one" program where you could buy two laptops, you get one and one gets donated.
They mailed ours to the wrong address and it got returned but their support was useless and they never could tell us where the laptop was or when we might get it.
We had pretty much just written it off, then yesterday, it just showed up on our doorstep.
Now Maya can check her email and chat with her friends all she wants without having to kick us off our computer.
Maya's Aunt Diane paid a visit this weekend, besides going out for some tasty meals, we went up and visited San Francisco on Saturday.
Maya turns 9 months old today. She's still doing great, she's just on the verge of crawling she'll go from sitting to almost crawling position and back but doesn't yet go anywhere.
We took her for her 9 month checkup and she's right on track for weight and height, almost exactly average. She's 19 pounds, 11 ounces and 27 1/2 inches.
They did a blood test and found that she's slightly anemic so we need to give her iron supplements for a few months.
