We visited a tiny carnival in the parking lot of the local Big Lots near us.
Maya got to ride on her first carnival ride...She enjoyed it but started getting impatient when the ride took forever to start. At least its a small step up from the carousel. She just needs to be a few feet taller so we can go on the fun rides.
Here I am spending $10.00 to try to win her a $2.00 stuffed animal.
And just like me, she loves cotton candy...she's a little neater when eating it though, she only got a little on her face and shirt.
Maya is beginning to be more and more sure of herself when walking. Tonight, for the first time, she walked across the room. Previously she would take 3 or 4 steps at the most.
She's getting much better about stopping and re-gaining her balance. She can't yet make any turns but she's made great strides (heh heh) in the the last week or so.
Some times the ending isn't so graceful. Here, I'm trying to count her steps and she only makes it to 3.
Maya celebrated by taking her mom to the park for a picnic by the lake.
Yesterday we went to the stanford powwow where Maya got to see lots of dancing and we got to eat fry bread.
And Maya is working on her career as a fashion photographer...
Here's a few pics from last weekend. On Saturday we went to San Francisco for the Open Studios at Hunter's Point and then went to a free concert in the park where Maya got jiggy
and rode the carousel.
On Sunday we wentto the greek festival which is held in History Park which has a bunch of old buildings from around the city that were moved there instead of being torn down.
We had to fill her stroller up with gas along the way:
